About
"Willpower can't override biology. But the right system can."
— Dr. Shaquilla Cooper
My Story
Dr. Shaquilla Cooper is a Doctor of Social Work, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor, and Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist — with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education & Promotion and a concentration in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine. Her academic and clinical foundation spans mental health, trauma, physiology, and human performance.
But the work didn't start in a classroom. It started with a moment she'll never forget.
She remembers sitting in class one weekend during her doctoral program. Normally, she was the person who could figure things out. But that morning, her mind went completely blank. She was staring at an assignment she couldn't seem to comprehend. The harder she tried to focus, the more confused she became — mentally exhausted, emotionally drained, and heavy. When her professor called attention to it, she knew something wasn't right.
Up until that point, she had convinced herself it was just a busy season. That she needed to push harder. Be more disciplined. Power through. But the harder she pushed, the worse things became.
After class, she spoke with her professor — also a licensed marriage and family therapist. Through that conversation, she realized something she hadn't been willing to admit: she wasn't struggling because she lacked motivation. She was carrying an enormous amount of stress — mentally and physically — and trying to override it with more effort.
"I wasn't failing. My nervous system was overloaded."
Once she stopped treating stress as a mindset issue and started understanding it as a performance constraint, everything changed. That discovery didn't just shift her own trajectory — it transformed how she works with ambitious women. Because once you understand what's actually happening inside your system, you stop guessing. And when you stop guessing, you can finally choose the right approach.
She created The Stress Resilience Method after recognizing this same pattern in high-achieving women everywhere: the harder they pushed, the more their performance, health, and confidence eroded. Not because they lacked discipline — but because they were operating in a state of chronic stress that no productivity system could fix.
As a single mother of three, the founder of a therapy practice, a nonprofit, and this coaching business, Dr. Cooper doesn't just teach sustainable high performance — she lives it. She knows firsthand what it takes to lead at the highest level while protecting what matters most.
My Mission
I believe sustainable high performance is not a luxury — it is a strategy. And every woman who has worked this hard deserves to succeed on her own terms.
What I Stand For
Success should not cost you your health, your relationships, or your sanity. Real performance is built on regulation, not sacrifice.
Burnout and self-sabotage are not character flaws — they are stress and nervous system problems. Lasting change requires addressing the actual source.
The goal is not to work harder. It is to think more clearly, decide more confidently, and act with precision — even under pressure.
You deserve coaching that respects your intelligence and your time. No fluff, no filler — just honest, actionable guidance that moves you forward.
Who I Work With
My clients are not struggling because they lack talent, drive, or experience. They are struggling because the strategies that got them here are no longer sustainable — and no one has given them a better system.
Ambitious women over 40 pursuing a promotion, business growth, or a new venture
High-achieving professionals, entrepreneurs, and career-pivoters who feel the pace is breaking them down
Women who are burned out, overthinking, or hesitating despite being capable and qualified
Women who are tired of the push → crash cycle and want sustainable high performance
Women who want a structured, physiological and strategic approach that works under real pressure
